Woermann House, National monument in Swakopmund, Namibia.
The three-story Woermann House features a tall Damara Tower rising from its center, with arcades and large windows across its facade.
Built in 1905 as headquarters for the Damara and Namaqua Trading Company, the building transferred to C. Woermann's ownership in 1909.
The building represents German colonial architecture and served multiple functions, from commercial operations to accommodating travelers and students.
The structure currently operates as a public library, offering residents and visitors access to educational resources in central Swakopmund.
Observers used the Damara Tower to monitor both incoming ships from the Atlantic Ocean and ox wagons approaching from the desert.
