Marine-Denkmal

The Marine-Denkmal is a stone monument featuring maritime motifs located in central Swakopmund near the Atlantic coast, documenting the German naval presence in the region. The structure displays inscriptions and informational plaques in multiple languages that explain its background and purpose.

The memorial was designed by Albert Moritz Wolff and inaugurated in 1908 to honor the Marine Expeditionary Corps during the 1904 conflicts. It received national monument status in 1969, marking its formal recognition as a historic site.
