Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre

The memorial site contains preserved remains of victims displayed in former technical school classrooms, serving as evidence of the 1994 mass killings.

In April 1994, approximately 65,000 Tutsis gathered at this technical school location, where 50,000 people were killed by Hutu militia forces.

The memorial center maintains permanent exhibitions documenting personal stories, photographs, and artifacts that detail the events of the Rwandan genocide.

Visitors can access guided tours in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, with advance reservations required for groups larger than ten people.

The site preserves 848 lime-treated bodies arranged on wooden tables, representing one of the most direct presentations of genocide evidence in Rwanda.
