Wanilla Land Settlement Conservation Park, Conservation park in Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
Wanilla Land Settlement Conservation Park is a protected area on the Eyre Peninsula divided into two sections by a road. The landscape features rolling terrain with steep gullies dominated by Sugar Gum woodlands and Broombush shrubland.
The area received protected status in 1985 and was formally designated a conservation park in 2006. This change provided stronger protections for the natural habitats in the region.
The park shows the region's commitment to protecting native plants and natural spaces. Visitors can walk through landscapes that reflect the character of South Australian wilderness.
The park is managed by the Department for Environment and Water and is open to visitors. Wear comfortable walking shoes as the terrain is hilly and paths can be uneven.
The park protects Granite Mudwort, a nationally endangered plant species found in very few places. This specialized plant makes the area particularly important for botanical conservation work.
