Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park

Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park is a nature reserve on the Yorke Peninsula featuring sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and diverse coastal habitats along the Spencer Gulf. The park includes multiple bays and protected areas for camping and exploration.

The area became a protected reserve in 1970 after functioning as a gypsum mining settlement centered around Inneston. This shift marked the transition from industrial extraction to environmental conservation.

The Narungga people held deep ties to this land for countless generations before outside settlers arrived. Their connection remains visible in place names and landmarks scattered throughout the area.

Multiple camping areas are accessible by standard vehicles on maintained roads at different bays throughout the park. Each location offers different features, so choosing your base depends on what activities interest you most.

The park contains living stromatolites, ancient layered structures formed by blue-green algae that offer insights into early life on Earth. These rarely noticed formations are a scientific wonder hiding in plain sight within the coastal waters.
