Rumah Gadang Kampai Nan Panjang

The building features a four-gabled roof made of palm fiber and stands as a rectangular structure constructed entirely from black wood materials.

The residence, approximately 300 years old, belongs to Datuk Panghulu Basa from the Kampai Nan Panjang clan and maintains its original construction methods.

The interior contains seven rooms measuring 1.5 by 3 meters each, following the Minangkabau custom of using odd numbers in room arrangements.

The house contains one central entrance with stairs at the front, leading to small oval bedrooms that require careful movement due to their 30-centimeter doors.

The construction method excludes the use of nails, while the exposed roof framework reveals a storage loft on the left side of the structure.
