Cape to Cape Track, long-distance walk trail in the South West region of Western Australia
Cape to Cape Track is a long-distance hiking trail in Western Australia that stretches roughly 135 kilometers from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin. The route passes through diverse landscapes including forest, beach, and heathland, with multiple day-walk options suited to different fitness levels.
The trail was developed in the 1990s to open the landscape between two significant capes for hikers to explore. Since then it has become a popular route for visitors wanting to experience the southwestern coast of Western Australia.
The best time to hike is between March and October when the weather is dry and mild. Proper footwear and plenty of water are necessary, as some sections are exposed and can be challenging.
Along the trail, hikers can spot wildlife such as kangaroos and various bird species in their natural habitat. These encounters with local animals are often a memorable highlight of the journey.
