Mammoth Cave, Show cave in Margaret River region, Australia
The limestone cave extends 500 meters in length and descends 30 meters beneath the surface within Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.
European settlers discovered the cave around 1850, with Tim Connelly conducting early tours using lamplight until electric lighting installation in 1904.
The Wardandi people, part of the Noongar community, maintain strong connections to this land within Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.
Visitors access the cave through the eastern entrance, complete a self-guided audio tour, and exit on the western side of Caves Road.
Scientists discovered over ten thousand megafauna fossil specimens in the cave, including remains of extinct marsupials like Zygomaturus.
