Balai Kota, Government complex in Central Jakarta, Indonesia
The Jakarta City Hall consists of multiple buildings with a mix of Indies Empire and International architectural styles at Medan Merdeka Selatan street.
The original city hall, constructed in 1621 during Batavia's development, relocated to the current location in 1919 as the city expanded southward.
The Governor's office interior opened to public viewing in 2015, allowing citizens to connect with their local government through weekly film screenings.
The building functions as the administrative center of Jakarta, housing offices for the governor, vice governor, and primary governmental departments.
Building G, constructed in 1972 within the complex, served as a prototype for Jakarta's future skyscraper developments.
