Ikada Stadium, Multi-purpose stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia
The stadium contained seating arrangements for 30,000 spectators and featured athletic tracks surrounding the central playing field for various sporting activities.
Established in 1818 as Champ de Mars during colonial times, the stadium changed names multiple times before becoming Ikada Stadium in the Japanese occupation period.
The stadium served as a central location for Indonesian sports development, hosting national football team matches and the Indonesian National Games from 1951.
Located at coordinates -6.176683, 106.827834, the stadium provided direct access to public transportation and central Jakarta neighborhoods until its demolition.
The site of former Ikada Stadium transformed into Merdeka Square in 1963, making space for the construction of the Indonesian National Monument.
