The name RSPAD is the Indonesian acronym for Rumah Sakit Angkatan Darat Gatot Subroto, the army hospital the stop serves; Transjakarta kept the institutional name rather than neutralising it, so the halt is named after the hospital beside it on Jalan Kwini II. The stop lies on Koridor 2, the corridor running west to east across Jakarta.
