CPLP Bridge, Transportation bridge in Comoro district, Dili, Timor-Leste.
The CPLP Bridge is a modern structure with two parallel roadways crossing the Comoro River. The construction features decorative arches along the carriageways and links central Dili with the western districts.
Construction followed the demolition of the older bridge at the same location and was an infrastructure project meant to modernize Dili. The completed structure was officially inaugurated in 2014 and significantly improved the city's transportation connections.
The bridge displays traditional Timorese design elements, particularly the Kaibauk figure at its top, which represents an important cultural symbol. Visitors notice this distinctive shape immediately when crossing or viewing it from a distance.
The bridge connects the city center directly with the international airport and the port to the west, significantly reducing travel times. Pedestrians and drivers should note that the structure can become very busy during heavy rain periods.
The project was a collaboration between Indonesian and Timorese engineers, making it a symbol of regional cooperation. This international partnership was notable for Timor-Leste during that period.
