Sidewinders Speedway, motorcycle speedway in Wingfield, Australia
Sidewinders Speedway is a racing track for motorcycles and cars located in Wingfield, South Australia. The circuit measures approximately 112 meters around and features a dolomite surface that provides good grip for young riders during their races.
The speedway was established as a junior motorcycle club in 1976 and opened its racing track in 1978. Since its opening, it has served as a starting point for many young riders who went on to succeed in motorsport.
The speedway takes its name from the Sidewinders Junior Motorcycle Club that established it. On race days, families and friends gather to support young riders and form part of a welcoming motorsport community.
The speedway is located in Wingfield at North Terrace at the end of Eighth Street and is easy to find. Races occur every second Saturday from October to April, with raised viewing areas that provide clear views of the entire track.
The track features a flyover structure added in 2018 that allows racers to ride over part of the circuit. This addition made the speedway more technically challenging and created a distinctive feature for young riders to experience.
