222 Exhibition Street stands as a 26-story structure with a glass facade and four distinct corner elements separated by recessed balcony grillages.
The architectural firm Denton Corker Marshall designed this postmodern building between 1986 and 1988, introducing innovative structural solutions for Melbourne's business district.
The building received recognition through the RAIA Merit Award in 1989, marking its contribution to Australian commercial architecture design principles.
The structure contains 476 parking spaces, 220 bike racks with repair stations, and maintains direct access to Parliament Station and Bourke Street tram stops.
Four slender towers rest on a cruciform steel framework, creating an optical division of mass through reflective glass that conceals the actual floor levels.
