Wardlow, Parkville, Melbourne, Renaissance Revival mansion in Parkville, Australia
The 1888 Wardlow building features cast iron decorations, tessellated pavements, and a prominent tower positioned over the entrance with decorative urns crowning the parapet.
John Boyes, owner of Brunswick Iron Foundry, commissioned builder CC Fewster to construct Wardlow as part of a larger residential development in Parkville during 1888.
The interior design reflects social distinctions with separate masculine and feminine styles in the drawing room and dining room, featuring original silk and velvet curtains.
The residence maintains its original layout from 1888, with modern updates in service areas while preserving historical features like servant bells and decorative wallpapers.
The property served as the exterior filming location for Phryne Fisher's residence in the television series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.
