Mansfield Zoo, Private zoo in Shire of Mansfield, Australia
Mansfield Zoo is a private animal facility in the Shire of Mansfield region near Mount Buller, housing over 220 animals including native Australian and exotic species. The grounds feature naturalistic enclosures designed to provide visitors with close viewing of diverse wildlife.
The facility was founded in 2000 by Steve Junghenn with deer and native species. It grew significantly following its purchase by Bronwen Wilson in 2005.
The zoo brings together animals from different parts of the world, allowing visitors to experience wildlife up close and develop awareness of their natural habitats. The setting encourages people to observe and appreciate species they might never encounter otherwise.
The facility is open daily and offers visitors the chance to observe animals in a spacious setting with multiple viewing areas and walking paths. Those interested in a more extended experience can camp on-site during the warmer months for overnight stays.
The facility is home to four African lions, including two rare white lions that can be observed during regular feeding demonstrations. These white variants are a genetic rarity found at very few locations worldwide.
