Bungonia National Park

The 15-square-kilometer national park features limestone formations, deep gorges, and more than 200 caves scattered throughout its varied terrain.

The area was initially designated as a water reserve in 1872 to protect the Shoalhaven River before becoming a national park in 2010.

The lands hold significance for Njunawal, Wandandian, and Gandangara peoples who used the area's routes for seasonal harvesting activities.

Visitors need to register at the park office and carry proper equipment for activities such as caving, rock climbing, and canyoning.

The park contains geological formations from the Ordovician and Devonian periods, including metamorphosed sandstones and volcanic rocks.
