Mount Broughton is a manor house in Sutton Forest, built in 1878 as a single-storey house and enlarged in 1926. Original fabric survives in the Music Room, Games Room, part of the front verandah, and the detached servants' quarters and buttery. It now operates as Peppers Manor House, a hotel and conference centre.

The property was originally granted to naval surgeon Dr. Charles Throsby in 1822, who played a role in early explorations of the Sutton Forest region. These early connections established the estate's importance in regional development and settlement.

The house was built in 1878 for Henry Edward Kater, a NSW Legislative Assembly member and chairman of the Colonial Sugar Refining Co. from 1901 to 1920. In 1929 the wedding of Norman Kater's daughter Jean to Ranald Munro drew over 400 guests, including Premier T. Bavin, and was reported in newspapers nationwide.

Mount Broughton stands off the Illawarra Highway at Sutton Forest, about 15 km southwest of Moss Vale and roughly 130 km from Sydney. The house operates as Peppers Manor House hotel and conference centre, so non-resident visitors should arrange access with reception before travelling. The original 1878 Music Room, Games Room and part of the front verandah survive alongside the 1926 additions.

At Jean Kater's 1929 wedding to Ranald Munro, over 400 guests attended, including Premier T. Bavin, and a shower of tawny pansies fell from a floral bell as the couple entered the reception room. Newspapers nationwide described the bride's ivory satin gown and the celebrations at Mount Broughton.
