Supreme Court of New Zealand, Supreme Court in Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand
The Supreme Court building features a modern design with a bronze screen facade and red glass panels reflecting patterns of native plants.
The Supreme Court of New Zealand replaced the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London as the highest court in 2004.
The institution incorporates both English common law principles and Māori legal traditions in its decision-making processes.
The court building at 85 Lambton Quay opens Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and maintains full accessibility for visitors.
Each courtroom contains specially designed furniture made from ancient kauri wood recovered from North Island swamps.
