St Ives is a suburb on Sydney's Upper North Shore that spreads across elevated terrain and valleys. It sits between Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Garigal National Park, positioned about 18 kilometers north of the city center.
The area was first explored by Governor Arthur Phillip in 1788, who established a campsite at Bungaroo. Over time, the region became a center for timber production.
