Manly Waterworks

Manly Waterworks is a water park located on the Manly beachfront featuring multiple slides and pools designed for families and younger visitors. The facility sits on elevated coastal terrain where water flows down through different slide configurations for summer recreation.

The water park opened in the early 1980s as a seasonal recreational facility for summer visitors to the Manly beachfront. A major overhaul in the mid-2010s modernized the slides and infrastructure to meet current safety requirements.

The water park gained recognition when it served as a filming location for the movie BMX Bandits, featuring Nicole Kidman in a slide escape scene.

Visitors should know that children must be at least 110 centimeters (43 inches) tall to use the slides and the park operates only during summer break and school holidays. Access is easy from the beachfront promenade and the facility is small enough to explore in a short visit.

The park served as a filming location for a well-known 1980s Australian movie and remains one of the last examples of small family-run beach entertainment parks along this coastline. Its simple design and layout preserve the character of a classic Australian summer destination.
