Weetwood is a Georgian villa in the Newtown area built in 1888 and located at 427 Tor Street. The house features a U-shaped roof, curved verandah, detailed timberwork, and ornate brick facades designed by architect James Marks.

Richard William Scholefield commissioned this house in 1888 on land that James Taylor had originally acquired in 1862. The property developed during a period of economic growth in Queensland when merchants were building impressive regional homes.

The house reflects the tastes of successful merchants who lived in the region during the late 1800s and expressed their social standing through fine architecture. The carefully crafted details show how the Scholefield family wanted to display their wealth and connection to British culture.

The house contains six rooms arranged along a central hallway where you can see preserved historical details. The property sits on substantial grounds near Clifford Park Racecourse and recent garden restoration work has enhanced the surroundings.

The McAllister Family acquired the property in 2020 and launched restoration projects focused on the gardens. This work preserved the original architectural elements while reviving the surrounding landscapes.
