St Patrick's Church, Rosevale

St Patrick's Church is a timber-framed building with weatherboard cladding and a galvanized iron roof located in Rosevale. It features lancet windows facing the Rosewood-Aratula Road, and the adjoining graveyard holds 68 registered burials spanning from 1887 to recent times.

The church was designed by Father Andrew Horan and inaugurated by Archbishop Robert Dunne on November 3, 1889. This event marked the establishment of a religious center for the growing Irish-Catholic community in the area.

The church became a gathering place for Irish families who brought their faith and customs to the region. It shows how immigrant communities created spaces to maintain their religious traditions in a new land.

The church is easily accessible from the Rosewood-Aratula Road and can be viewed from outside the building. Since services are held on special occasions, it helps to check ahead to find out when the site welcomes visitors.
