Brisbane Tramway Museum, Railway museum in Ferny Grove, Australia.
The Brisbane Tramway Museum houses a collection of about 25 trams and two trolley-buses that show how public transport evolved in Queensland. The vehicles come from different periods and demonstrate how these services changed over the years.
The museum was founded in 1980 when the Brisbane Tramway Museum Society acquired the Ferny Grove site to preserve trams from the ending network. This effort rescued important vehicles from being scrapped.
Volunteer guides share their knowledge about transportation heritage through educational programs and guided tours for schools and community groups.
Access is available on Sundays when visitors should wear closed-toe footwear. Guided tours are offered to help you learn more about the collection.
A demonstration track of about 250 meters allows visitors to ride in restored trams, including Number 47 from 1901. This hands-on experience lets you see the historical vehicles in motion.
