Noosa National Park, Nature reserve in Sunshine Coast, Australia

Noosa National Park consists of three distinct sections—Noosa Headland, Emu Mountain, and Peregian—connected by walking trails through diverse coastal landscape. Each area features different viewpoints overlooking the Tasman Sea, with cliffs, sandy coves, and patches of native forest along the Queensland shoreline.

Queensland's Department of National Parks established this reserve in 2007 to protect coastal ecosystems and native animal populations. The designation reflected growing recognition of the ecological importance of this stretch of coastline to the region.

The coastal area holds profound meaning for Aboriginal peoples who developed deep connections with this environment over countless generations. The land continues to reflect these ancestral relationships through the way it is experienced and valued today.

The main entrance is near Hastings Street, with additional access points at Park Road and the Noosa Headland day-use area. Walking trails vary in difficulty, so choose routes that match your fitness level and available time.

The coastal walking track stretches roughly 11 kilometers along rocky cliffs where migrating humpback whales pass between June and October. This seasonal movement brings animals close to shore, making it one of the best times to spot them from land.
