The Majestic Theatre occupies a rectangular building with a gable roof and features traditional architectural elements including a bull-nosed awning supported by timber posts.
Built in 1921 as a social hall with attached shops, the theater received its entertainment license in 1923 and shifted from silent films to talkies by 1931.
The venue maintains its heritage by screening silent films accompanied by a 1937 Compton Organ, originally from the ABC Regal Cinema in Chester, England.
Located at 3 Factory Street, the theater offers 300 seats and operates as an entertainment space for corporate events, weddings, films, and community functions.
The Majestic Theatre holds the distinction of being the longest continuously operating movie theater in Australia and the oldest authentic silent movie theater worldwide.
