Majestic Theatre, Pomona

Majestic Theatre is a movie theater in a rectangular building with a gable roof and traditional architectural details, including a curved awning supported by wooden posts. Inside, it accommodates around 300 seats and functions as a venue for screenings, weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings.

The building was constructed in 1921 as a social hall with attached shops and received an entertainment license in 1923. Its function gradually shifted from silent films to sound films beginning in 1931.

The venue screens silent films accompanied by a 1937 Compton Organ that was originally installed in a cinema in Chester, England. This pairing of vintage films with live organ music creates an experience that has become rare in the modern world.

The venue is located on Factory Street and is accessible on foot or by car with parking available nearby. Visitors should know that it operates primarily for special events and screenings rather than regular daily showtimes.

This theater holds the record as Australia's longest continuously operating movie house and the oldest authentic silent film cinema in the world. This rare combination of age and continuous operation makes it a remarkable landmark in cinema history.
