Newell Beach is a sandy coastal area in Queensland where the shore meets the Coral Sea. Tropical forest grows close to the water's edge, creating a natural border between land and ocean.

The town is named after John Newell, a local businessman and politician. In the 2016 census the locality had 336 residents, falling to 327 in 2021. The surrounding low-lying land has long been used for sugarcane farming, and a cane tramway runs along the western boundary to the Mossman Sugar Mill.
