Two Islands National Park, Marine national park in Far North Queensland, Australia

Two Islands National Park is a marine reserve in the Coral Sea off Far North Queensland, protecting two islands and surrounding reef systems. The area covers about 15 hectares and sits within the Three Islands Group.

The area became a national park in 1939 as part of Queensland's push to protect marine ecosystems along its coast. This early designation made it one of the first marine reserves established in Australia.

The islands serve as essential research locations for scientists studying seabird populations and marine biology in the Great Barrier Reef region.

Visiting is limited to certain seasons, with overnight camping only between April and August and restricted visitor numbers. The islands are reachable only by private boat or organized tours and require careful planning.

Large portions of the islands are completely closed to visitors to protect seabird nesting sites. These restrictions have allowed some of the most vulnerable bird species in the region to flourish.
