BMO Stadium is an association football venue in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, with 22,000 seats arranged in a steep layout. The stands run close to the edge of the pitch and form an enclosed bowl without an athletics track, allowing spectators to follow the action from a short distance.
The stadium opened in April 2018 on the site of the former Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. Its construction marked the first new open-air football ground in the city in six decades.
The venue serves as home for both LA FC and Angel City FC, welcoming crowds several times a week during their respective seasons. On match days the surrounding area becomes a gathering spot where supporters wave flags and sing team songs before kickoff.
The stadium sits next to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, just south of the University of Southern California campus. It has 440 planned bicycle parking spaces and a bike path to the stadium built as part of the My Figueroa Project. Five percent of parking spaces have electric vehicle charging stations, with 20% electric vehicle ready infrastructure.
A northeast slice of the stadium is left open as a "keyhole" framing the downtown Los Angeles skyline and the San Gabriel Mountains. The angled press box sits at this opening, giving media one of the best vantage points in the ground. The roof itself is covered with 190,000 square feet of ETFE film.
