The University of Southern California campus, known as the University Park Campus, covers 226 acres in the Exposition Park neighborhood, bounded by Jefferson Boulevard, Figueroa Street, Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. Most buildings are Romanesque Revival in red brick and cream limestone, planned by John Parkinson around Trousdale Parkway, with Brutalist dormitories at the northern edge.

The university began in 1880 on eight acres at Jefferson Boulevard and Hoover Street, on land donated by Ozro Childs, John Gately Downey and Isaias W. Hellman. Its first building, Widney Alumni House, still stands in continuous use as the oldest university building in Southern California. In 1919 John Parkinson designed a masterplan centred on what is now Trousdale Parkway, using red brick and cream limestone.

The campus hosts more than 1000 student organizations that shape daily life and serve diverse interests. Art galleries display regular exhibitions that reflect the creative work of the community.

The campus provides shuttle buses and bicycle facilities that connect different areas of the grounds. These transportation options make it easier to get around for visitors and members of the community.

The campus houses numerous research laboratories focused on biomedical sciences, engineering, and artificial intelligence. These facilities push forward technological progress across multiple fields.
