Casa de Rosas consists of four buildings, with the main structure featuring Mission Revival architectural elements and three supplementary buildings at the rear.
The main building, designed by architect Sumner Hunt in 1893, initially served as the Froebel Institute kindergarten before becoming a preparatory school for girls.
The complex represents early educational development in Los Angeles as one of the first kindergartens and private schools for female students in the region.
Located at 2600 South Hoover Street in Los Angeles, the complex received National Register of Historic Places designation on July 14, 2004.
The structure transformed through multiple functions, from an experimental kindergarten to military barracks during World War II and later a Dianetics Foundation headquarters.
