Pacific Ocean Park, Amusement park in Santa Monica, United States
Pacific Ocean Park was an amusement park built on a pier extending into the Pacific Ocean off Santa Monica, featuring rides and attractions centered on ocean themes. The facility included multiple entertainment zones with submarines, carousels, and marine-focused shows spread across the waterfront structure.
The park opened in 1958 as a collaborative venture and attracted strong visitor numbers from the start. It operated until the late 1960s before various urban and economic changes led to its closure.
The Sea Circus accommodated 2,000 spectators who watched dolphins and sea lions perform, while visitors could feed seals at the nearby pool.
The park sat directly on an ocean pier with access from the mainland nearby. Multiple entrance points allowed visitors to explore different themed areas at their own pace.
Neptune's Kingdom entrance transported visitors through a submarine elevator to oceanic corridors leading to tanks with sharks and marine life displays.
