Mount Soledad, Veterans memorial with cross in La Jolla, San Diego, US.
The Mount Soledad Cross stands 43 feet tall on an 823-foot mountain summit between Interstate 5 and the Pacific Ocean.
The first wooden cross appeared in 1913, followed by two reconstructions, with the current concrete structure established in 1954.
The memorial contains six concentric walls displaying 3,200 black granite plaques that commemorate military personnel from the Revolutionary War onward.
Visitors can reach the memorial by car or bicycle through multiple access roads, with parking available at the summit.
The site served as the final residence of children's author Dr. Seuss, featuring an observation tower known locally as the Seuss house.
