Metromedia Square, Art Deco broadcasting complex in Hollywood, US
Metromedia Square is an Art Deco broadcasting facility on Sunset Boulevard featuring four separate sound stages of varying dimensions. The spaces accommodated film production, radio, and television operations within a single complex.
The Nassour brothers opened the facility in 1946 and operated it under their family name. It later changed hands when Times Mirror Company acquired the property.
The complex served as a working hub where filmmakers and broadcasters shaped entertainment across multiple decades. The Art Deco design created a distinctive backdrop that became part of Hollywood's creative identity during its era.
The site sits on Sunset Boulevard and is accessible by standard Hollywood transportation options. Keep in mind the building no longer functions as an active production facility.
A white ladder-shaped sculpture called Starsteps crowned the roof and made the building recognizable from the air and surrounding area. This distinctive art feature helped identify the property across the Los Angeles landscape.
