Jose Serrano Adobe, Historic adobe residence in Lake Forest, United States.

The José Serrano Adobe is a one-story adobe house built in 1863 within Heritage Hill Historical Park in Lake Forest. George Whiting added a dining room, bedroom and kitchen in 1932, and the surrounding gardens hold two pepper trees over a century old. It is one of four historic buildings moved to or preserved on the park grounds.

José Serrano built the adobe in 1863 on Rancho Cañada de los Alisos, a 10,688-acre grant confirmed by Governors Juan B. Alvarado in 1842 and Pío Pico in 1846. It was the second of five adobe structures the Serranos raised on the rancho, where they kept longhorn cattle until droughts from 1863 to 1883 forced them to divide and mortgage the land. Dwight Whiting bought the adobe and much of the rancho in 1884; his son George added a dining room, bedroom and kitchen in 1932, and the house became California State Landmark #199.

The adobe is the second of five adobe structures the Serrano family built on Rancho Cañada de los Alisos, where they raised longhorn cattle. The 1932 additions by George Whiting added a dining room, bedroom and kitchen. A state marker calls it La Casa de Adobe de Jose Serrano, home of the rancho's original grantee.

The adobe stands on 4.1 acres set aside by Orange County within Heritage Hill Historical Park, where St. George's Episcopal Mission and the 1870s El Toro Grammar School were moved to the site in 1976 and the Harvey Bennett Ranch House in 1978. The park opened in May 1981 as the county's first historical park and was rededicated in September 1985.

Two pepper trees more than 100 years old grow in the gardens beside the house, remnants of its past landscape. The building once served as a gathering place for the Aliso Water Company, showing how the home had importance beyond just shelter.
