Mummy Mountain, Mountain summit in Paradise Valley, United States.
Mummy Mountain rises to 2,260 feet in elevation with slopes featuring suburban houses and conservation areas at the upper sections of the peak.
Charles Mieg purchased the mountain property for $12,000 in the 1940s and named it after its resemblance to an Egyptian mummy lying down.
The Mummy Mountain Preserve Trust manages 218 acres of protected land through donations from property owners and public land transfers since 1997.
Access to the summit requires permission to park at J.W. Marriott Camelback Inn Resort, followed by a challenging 1.51-mile hike with 794 feet elevation gain.
The mountain stands as the sole section of the Phoenix Mountains excluded from the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, maintaining its independent conservation status.
