Grand Canyon University is a private Christian institution in Phoenix, Arizona, offering more than 200 academic programs through nine colleges. These programs range from undergraduate to doctoral level, covering fields such as nursing, business, education, and theology.
The institution began in 1949 as Grand Canyon College in Prescott, established by Southern Baptists, and moved to Phoenix two years later. It became a university in 1984 and later shifted to for-profit ownership before returning to nonprofit status.
