Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, Memorial state park in Yavapai County, United States.
Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park is a memorial park in Yavapai County, Arizona. Nineteen engraved plaques along the trail display portraits and life stories of each firefighter who died.
The park was created after the Yarnell Hill Fire claimed the lives of nineteen firefighters on June 30, 2013. Their final position in the field later became the site of the main memorial.
Visitors contribute personal items to the remembrance wall, maintaining an active connection between the community and the firefighters' legacy.
The round-trip trail covers about 7 miles (11 km) and climbs over two hundred stone steps. The route rises from around 4318 feet (1316 m) to roughly 5460 feet (1664 m).
Rock-filled baskets linked by chains form a circle at the end of the trail. Visitors leave personal mementos along the wall, keeping the memory of the crew alive.
