Cave of the Crystals, Crystal cave in Naica, Mexico.

The main chamber of this underground formation contains massive selenite crystal beams reaching lengths of 12 meters and weights of 55 tons.

Mining operations in 2000 led to the discovery of this mineral formation when workers Eloy and Javier Delgado encountered an opening while drilling.

The formation serves as a research center for geologists studying crystal formation processes and mineral growth patterns in extreme conditions.

The cave maintains temperatures of 58 degrees Celsius with 90 percent humidity, limiting human exposure to 10 minutes even with protective equipment.

The selenite crystal columns formed over 500,000 years through mineral-rich water interaction with limestone, creating the largest natural crystal structures worldwide.
