Quinta Gameros

Quinta Gameros is a four-story Art Nouveau mansion in Chihuahua with ornate stone facades, decorative columns, and an elongated dome topped with an architectural spire. The building contains elaborately decorated interior rooms shaped by artistic details throughout.

The mansion was commissioned by Manuel Gameros in 1907, but the family fled to El Paso in 1913 as the Mexican Revolution took hold. The building then passed into the hands of various groups during the years of conflict.

The mansion displays European artistic traditions through oil paintings, wooden reliefs, and architectural details created by artisans from Mexico City. You can see how these elements shaped the rooms and reveal the cosmopolitan tastes of those who originally lived here.

The building operates as a cultural center and offers guided tours in Spanish that explain the architectural and artistic features. It is worth taking time to slowly explore the rooms and examine the details at your own pace.

The upper floor contains the Golden Room for temporary exhibitions and a dedicated space with artifacts from the Paquimé archaeological site. This collection offers an unexpected look at ancient cultures that lived in the region long before this mansion was built.
