The Edificio Coltabaco stands in central Cali with three stories plus a tower, displaying Renaissance and Mudejar architectural elements in its design.
Built in 1936 by the Colombian Tobacco Company, the structure served as their regional headquarters until 1991 before being donated to Cali municipality in 2016.
The building houses the Popular Institute of Culture, offering spaces for artistic presentations, exhibitions, and educational activities throughout the year.
The structure undergoes restoration work with a 13.9 billion peso investment to create educational spaces, including the Teófilo Roberto Potes Library and documentation center.
The building combines reinforced concrete with lightweight brick partitions, decorated with gypsum, cement, and wooden ornamental elements in its architectural composition.
