The Iglesia de Santa Bárbara features a rectangular floor plan with three naves supported by square pillars and semicircular arches throughout the structure.
Built between 1726 and 1795, the Jesuits initiated the construction of this church after receiving it as a donation in 1728.
The interior holds numerous anonymous sculptures from the 16th to 18th centuries, along with a wooden pulpit and carved baptismal font.
The church stands two blocks from the main park, adjacent to Plaza Santa Barbara, and welcomes visitors for both religious services and cultural visits.
Original wall paintings from the construction period remain concealed within the church, preserving decorative elements from its early history.
