Planetarium of Medellín

The Planetarium of Medellín is a science facility in the city featuring a theater that seats about 200 visitors, along with a reference library and observation instruments for studying the night sky. The building contains multiple sections dedicated to different aspects of astronomy and space science.

The facility opened on October 10, 1984, and was the first in South America to use computer-controlled systems for astronomical presentations. This technology marked a turning point in how the continent approached science education and celestial demonstrations.
