Torre del Reloj, Cúcuta

The Torre del Reloj stands in central Cúcuta as a structure featuring a wooden tower topped with an imported Italian clock. The building retains its original thick brick walls and clay tile roofing from its early construction period.

The structure originated in 1923 as part of a private residence before being acquired by a utility company in later decades. The tower and clock were added during the 1930s, establishing the form that remains visible today.

The building serves as a venue for art exhibitions and cultural events that draw people from across the city. Visitors can explore the gallery spaces and experience how the site functions as a gathering place for local creative expression.

The site is located centrally between Avenida 3 and Avenida 4 on Calle 13, making it easily accessible on foot. Note that the tower section requires climbing a wooden ladder, so visitors should be prepared for this physical activity.

The wooden ladder leading to the tower clock dates from the 1930s and remains the only way to access the upper section. This original method of access gives visitors a direct sense of how the structure was designed decades ago.
