F&F Tower, Office skyscraper in Panama City, Panama

F&F Tower is a 52-story office skyscraper on Calle 50 in Panama City's financial district, completed in 2011. Designed by Pinzon Lozano & Asociados Arquitectos, it rises 242.9 metres and is built of glass and reinforced concrete. Its floor plates rotate progressively around a central core, giving the tower a twisted, screw-like profile.

Construction of this modern building started in 2008 under the design of Pinzon Lozano & Asociados Arquitectos and was completed in 2011. The project represented an important milestone in Panama's architectural progress during that period.

Locals call it El Tornillo, the Screw, or the Corkscrew, after the helical twist of its glass and reinforced concrete facade. The building sits on Calle 50, the banking street of Panama City, where its rotated profile is visible from several blocks away. In 2011 the German real-estate firm Emporis ranked it seventh in its Skyscraper Award for architectural excellence and functionality.

The building is easily accessible during business hours as the banking district is well-developed and straightforward to navigate. Visitors should know that this is primarily an office building, so access may be restricted outside of standard work hours.

The tower's twisting profile comes from a floor plate that rotates as it rises, giving the 52-story shaft its screw shape. German real-estate firm Emporis placed it seventh in its 2011 Skyscraper Award, citing architectural quality and functionality. It is Panama's ninth tallest building and Latin America's fourteenth.
