Loma de León Natural Monument

Loma de León is a protected natural area in Lara's mountainous region, spanning a large expanse and characterized by quartzite rock formations. Located at around 1,300 meters elevation in semi-arid terrain, the site offers multiple trails for visitors to explore.

The area was placed under protection by the Venezuelan government in 1987 to preserve its distinctive geology and water sources. This decision recognized the site's importance for nature conservation in the region.
