Daaibooi

Daaibooi is a bay with sandy beach areas and rocky formations on the southwestern coast of Curacao. Clear waters extend into the Caribbean Sea and create a sheltered swimming area.

The beach became a gathering place when local families established regular weekend barbecues and social meetings. These traditions shaped it as a social center for the surrounding area.

The beach kiosk plays Caribbean music while local families gather at wooden palapas for traditional weekend meals and celebrations.

The beach has basic facilities including restrooms, beach chair rentals, and a kiosk with cold drinks and snacks. Morning visits are best when crowds are lighter and the light is best for photography.

Sea turtles regularly appear near the shore after 4 PM, allowing swimmers to watch these creatures in their natural habitat. This occurrence becomes more frequent in the afternoon and offers a rare chance for wildlife watching.
