Blue Bay Sculpture Garden, Sculpture garden in Boca Samí, Curaçao.
The Blue Bay Sculpture Garden sits within the Blue Bay Golf & Beach Resort and displays around 42 large-scale sculptures arranged along winding pathways near the Landhuis Blauw manor house. The 2000-square-meter site stretches from the resort entrance to the beach restaurant Coast.
The garden's foundation began in May 2017 with a ceramic totem by Ellen Spijkstra. The collection of Caribbean art has grown steadily since that initial installation.
The collection showcases works by artists who use materials such as Table Mountain stone, marble, iron, coral stone, and wood in their pieces. These material choices reflect connections to the island's natural surroundings and local identity.
The garden offers free access and the pathways are laid out to guide visitors from the resort entrance to the beach restaurant. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to view all the works displayed along the designated trails.
The garden received a visit from Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands in November 2021, who examined pieces such as Pacific Song, a sculpture depicting whale tails. This royal attention highlights the artistic significance of the location.
