Grutas de Cacahuamilpa National Park, Cave system and national park in Guerrero, Mexico

The cave network extends for 10,000 meters through limestone formations, with main passages averaging 40 meters in width and chambers reaching heights of 80 meters.

Manuel Saenz de la Peña discovered these caves in 1835, leading to scientific expeditions and their declaration as a National Park in 1936.

The caves contain archaeological evidence of pre-Columbian pottery, indicating early human presence and usage by indigenous peoples who named it Salachi.

Visitors can join hourly guided tours between 10 AM and 5 PM throughout the year, with Spanish-speaking guides leading groups through twenty accessible chambers.

The cave system features ninety large interconnected chambers, including an auditorium space that hosts concerts by orchestras and musical performers.
