Nuestra Cabaña, WAGGGS World Centre in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Nuestra Cabaña is an international training center situated on a spacious property in Cuernavaca. The facility features two main buildings set within tropical gardens and offers accommodations for groups of varying sizes.
The facility opened in 1957 as a memorial marking the centennial of Robert Baden-Powell's birth. Lady Olave Baden-Powell formally dedicated the site in 1956, connecting it to the global Girl Guide and Girl Scout movement.
The center carries a name rooted in Spanish language, expressing the concept of a simple dwelling place. Visitors encounter traditional Mexican influences woven into the architecture and setting of this gathering space.
The location sits approximately one hour from Mexico City International Airport, making it fairly accessible by road. Visitors should prepare for tropical climate and lush surroundings, bringing appropriate clothing and sun protection.
The entrance features a distinctive blue door that was personally donated by Lady Baden-Powell. This door serves as a symbolic welcome gesture to young people arriving from around the world.
